Where to Brunch in Cartagena
Cartagena is home to quite the selection of wake up worthy brunch venues. After a late night of dancing or polishing off a bottle of aguardiente, sit down for a big breakfast at these locally-loved Cartagena brunch spots.

Whether it’s a classic arepa de huevo that you seek or a good-old-fashioned stack of pancakes, here are my top 3 brunch spots in Cartagena. For four additional brunch recommendations, head over to Juan Ballena’s blog where I had room to stretch the Cartagena breakfast list a bit longer.
1. La Brioche
This was the very first place I ever sat down for breakfast in Cartagena. Its French-inspired interiors and Franco-Colombian menu had me hooked right away. And their croissant de choco-almendra was my kryptonite on a weekly basis. For breakfast or brunch, I recommend their Plato Tipico, a plate of deviled eggs, arepas de queso, salchicha Antioqueño, and queso Cartagena.
2. Café Lunatico
Cafe Lunatico is a classic brunch spot with many of the same brunch comforts you may be used to at home, including bottomless mimosas, and Instagram-worthy breakfast plates. Seriously this spot is a must-try and one of the best spots to brunch in Cartagena by a landslide. It’s situated on a quiet Getsemani street and features both indoor and outdoor seating, but usually the space is packed. Get there early or prepare to wait for a table. Either way it’s worth it.
3. Café Época
I absolutely love this spot. Cafe Epoca’s all-day menu of brunch fare is to die for and their coffee is second to none. Expect made-to-order eggs, avocado toast, and a few more creative breakfast plates. If you’re more of a late, late brunch-goer, don’t be shy to order one of their cocktails either. Everything on the menu is quality.
Go all in on a Foodie Experience in Cartagena
After you’ve satisfied your brunch craving, consider booking a full fledged Cartagena food tour to really get a lay of the gastronomic land.
